Humidity Monitoring: Protecting Your Moisture-Sensitive Cargo
A New Standard in Package Integrity
The Sensos Label includes humidity monitoring capabilities. This feature provides additional protection for your valuable shipments, ensuring optimal conditions for moisture-sensitive goods.
Why Humidity Matters
Humidity plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of many products during transport. Excess moisture can lead to:
- Condensation: This leads to water damage and product degradation.
- Corrosion: Accelerating the deterioration of metal components.
- Mold Growth: Compromising product quality and safety.
With the Sensos Label's humidity monitoring, you can gain valuable insights into the moisture levels within your shipments, helping you prevent damage and maintain product quality.
Feature Overview
- Periodic Logging: The Sensos Label logs humidity levels at intervals you define, from every 10 minutes to every 6 hours.
- Data Download: You can easily download the complete humidity log during and after shipment completion (up to 90 days).
- Easy Setup: Enable humidity logging in the Set Creation section of the Sensos Sync platform.
Label Functionality
- Humidity Format: Humidity is displayed as X.X %RH, ranging from 0% to 100%.
- Logging Frequency: You can choose your desired logging frequency.
- Data Storage: Humidity data is stored on the label and transmitted with each report.
Sync Platform Integration
- Data Download: Download humidity logs during and after shipment completion (up to 90 days after).
- Data Storage: Sensos Sync stores humidity data for at least 90 days after shipment completion.
- Set Creation: Enable humidity logging during set creation.
Benefits
- Prevent Moisture Damage: Protect your valuable cargo from condensation, corrosion, and mold.
- Maintain Product Quality: Ensure optimal conditions for moisture-sensitive goods.
- Enhance Customer Satisfaction: Deliver products in pristine condition.
- Gain Valuable Insights: Monitor humidity trends to identify potential risks and optimize packaging.
Note: Humidity sensing with alert capabilities is a special on-demand feature. Please contact Sensos for further information and to discuss your specific requirements.
Continuous Temperature/Humidity Breach Reporting
Sensos Labels are designed to continuously monitor temperature and humidity. If a breach occurs and persists, the device will generate subsequent reports at a default interval (e.g., every 1 hour) as long as the condition remains outside the defined range. This “Temperature/Humidity Alert Timer” (T4) that’s an internal parameter which I wouldn’t communicate ensures that the Label continues to record and attempt to send data about the ongoing breach. While these continuous reports provide valuable data in the shipment's log and event history, they currently do not trigger new, repeated alerts or email notifications in Sensos Sync to avoid cluttering your Alert Center and inbox. The full data is always available for review. In the future, the ability to control this timer will be made accessible to customers.
Temperature/Humidity Back in Range Notification
Sensos devices automatically generate and save a “Temperature Back in Range” (and “Humidity Back in Range”) report when the condition returns to within the acceptable limits after a breach. This report is transmitted to the Sensos Sync platform. While this is a critical data point, it currently appears as a report in your shipment's event log and does not trigger a separate, dedicated alert or email notification in Sync. We are always evaluating customer feedback to enhance our alert system.
Visual Representation of Breaches During Offline Periods
Sensos Sync provides a comprehensive visual representation of temperature and humidity breaches, even those that occurred when the Label had no connectivity. If a critical breach (or “Back In Range” event) happens while the label is offline, it is stored as a “saved report” and transmitted with its original timestamp once connectivity is regained. Furthermore, if a temperature or humidity breach occurs, the device automatically activates its logging feature (even if logging was previously turned off) to capture all data during the out-of-range period. This ensures that when the data is finally received, your shipment's temperature/humidity graph and event log will accurately reflect the entire duration and severity of the breach, providing full visibility into conditions experienced during offline periods.
