The Open/Close Indicator

The Sensos Label offers a unique way to detect the opening of shipments or parcels. Our open/close sensor provides a robust security solution, regardless of lighting conditions, unlike light-based sensors.

The Open/Close Indicator Tab

When applied to a parcel, the open/close indicator tab folds perpendicularly to the label (see our article on label application for details). This tab detects when a package is opened or closed, serving two key purposes:

1. Tamper Protection and Security: Monitor unauthorized access to your shipments.
2. Automatic Proof of Delivery: Receive automated notifications for improved delivery efficiency.
   Real-Time Alerts:

The Sensos platform provides real-time notifications for open/close events. You'll receive alerts:

• Upon Shipment Closure: Informing you that the parcel is ready for dispatch.
• Upon Subsequent Openings: Notifying you of any access to the package after closure.

Contextualized Alerts

Based on your user settings, the platform categorizes open/close events according to their status (during transport or after delivery) for easier tracking.

Shipment Milestones Management

The Sensos platform allows you to manage your shipment milestones, including setting endpoints, connecting to billing systems, and integrating with inventory management and product planning tools.

False Detection Prevention

To avoid false alarms, the sensor defines an "open" state only after five seconds of consecutive horizontal movement.

Important Note

The open/close flap on the Label is an integral part of the tamper detection system. Cutting or damaging the flap will disable the Label's ability to detect opening and closing events, and may cause the Label to stop functioning altogether. Please handle the Label with care during application and throughout the shipment process to ensure proper functionality.
