Understanding Shipment Milestones
A shipment's event log contains a series of milestones that track its journey from creation to completion. These milestones represent key stages in the shipment's lifecycle.
Tracking the various stages of a shipment is essential for effective supply chain management. Sensos provides detailed visibility into a shipment's lifecycle through a series of milestones logged in the event log.
Key Shipment Milestones
- Created: The shipment is initiated, typically through a CSV upload or system integration.
- Pending Dispatch: Specific to reverse logistics, this indicates an inbound shipment is awaiting departure.
- Paired: The Sensos Label is activated and linked to the shipment.
Note: The "Paired" milestone is a temporary state and is often followed immediately by "Ready for Dispatch." - Ready for Dispatch: The label is paired and activated, and the shipment is prepared for departure.
- Seal Applied: The shipment is sealed with the Sensos Label.
- Left Origin: The shipment has departed its origin point.
- In Transit: The shipment is currently in transit.
- Takeoff: Applicable for air shipments, indicating the aircraft's departure.
- Shock: A sudden impact or vibration has been detected (based on user-defined attributes).
- Start Moving: The shipment has begun movement.
- Moving: The shipment is in motion.
- Static: The shipment is stationary.
- Seal Opened: The shipment's seal has been compromised.
- Temperature: A temperature breach has occurred (based on user-defined attributes).
- Temperature Back in Range: The temperature has returned to normal (based on user-defined attributes).
- Regain Network: Network connectivity has been restored after an outage, as in flight or maritime transit periods.
- Landing: Applicable for air shipments, indicating the aircraft's arrival.
- Arrived: The shipment has reached its destination.
- Completed: The shipment lifecycle has ended.
In most cases, there is a time gap between arrival time and the moment a shipment is completed.
Once a shipment is completed, it is archived and removed from the default view of the All Shipments page in Sync.
Note: Users can set shipment to be automatically completed upon arrival. - Completed with Alerts: The shipment is complete but still has open alerts.
- Open Indication Post-Arrival: The shipment was opened after arrival.
Milestone Status:
Sensos categorizes milestones using a color-coded system to indicate status:
- Green: Completed, ready, or good.
- Yellow: Pending or in progress.
- Red: Indicates a potential issue or requires attention.
By understanding these milestones and their associated statuses, you can effectively track shipment progress, identify potential issues, and optimize your supply chain operations.
