Using Temperature Logs & Alerts
Temperature Monitoring and Alerts for Pharmaceutical Shipments
Maintaining the Cold Chain
Maintaining a consistent temperature throughout the supply chain is critical in the pharmaceutical industry. This "cold chain" ensures the quality, effectiveness, and safety of temperature-sensitive medications, vaccines, and biologics. Improper temperature exposure can render these products ineffective or even harmful.
Sensos Temperature Monitoring
Sensos Labels monitor temperature by default, and all data is transmitted to the Sensos Sync platform. This allows you to track shipment temperature. Each report you receive will include a temperature section and a visualization of the temperature over time.
Temperature Alerts
The temperature monitoring feature is not enabled by default. However, you can easily activate it to receive alerts for temperature fluctuations.
Setting Up Temperature Alerts
-
Enable Temperature Monitoring: Activate the temperature monitoring feature in the Sensos Sync platform.
-
Set Temperature Range: Define the acceptable temperature range for your shipment.
- Configure Alerts: Choose to receive alerts for:
- Any deviation: All instances where the temperature falls outside the set range.
- Specific deviations: Alerts only when the temperature exceeds or falls below the set range for a certain duration (configurable).
Additional Features for Cold Chain Compliance
To comply with industry regulations, users in the cold chain and pharmaceutical industries can enable an additional logging feature:
Scheduled Temperature Logging: This feature records temperature readings at predefined intervals and includes them in each report.
